We want to know our students - and have each of them be known! Catawba County Schools makes secondary education better by personalizing learning whenever possible. By tailoring education to fit individual strengths, needs, skills, and interests, each student receives a learning plan that's based on what he/she knows and how he/she learns best. Read on to discover what our students will learn throughout their secondary education.
IMPORTANT: School in Session with 2-Hour Delay, Thursday, October 3!
Catawba County Schools students will return to schoolwith a two-hour delay on Thursday, October 3, to allow for safe travel in daylight. QUEST will also operate on a two-hour delay at all sites. We believe the school environment, with access to power, water, and food, will be the best place for our students as we work toward getting back to normal. We know the lasting impacts of Hurricane Helene are still being felt, but getting back into a routine is important for our students’ well-being.
We understand some families are still dealing with power outages, so absences due to the impact of the hurricane will be excused for the next two days with a parent note, and we will re-evaluate this for next week.
Due to ongoing issues with phone service, there will be limited phone lines at our schools (1 line per school). Please use ParentSquare to contact the school office whenever possible.
For the most part, our bus routes are clear, and we’re prepared to transport students safely. If any routes need to be adjusted, your school will be in contact with you directly. Any staff who are unable to work tomorrow, please notify your supervisor as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school!
